| Data Confidentiality |
| Patient name and address are never dictated by NHS hospital users. We ask that both Patient ID, and Date of Birth are dictated. These are entered as data tags by our typists, and are used as reference points to automatically populate full name and address in the document using the hospital’s own database as the source. Thus we deliver greater data protection, and 100% name & address consistency. |
| Gateway Computer |
 We place a “gateway computer” on each client site to minimise the workload for IT. We recognise that hospital IT departments are often working to the limit of their resources and therefore have little time to spend with suppliers. We do everything possible to minimise the amount of IT time required to implement our service. |
| Contractual Commitment |
| Speech Machines gives all its clients a contractually binding commitment that its systems will always comply with both the The Data Protection Act and The Freedom of Information Act. |

| Our workflow technology can add value in many ways. The NHS use it to access off-shore transcription in hospitals where medical secretaries are difficult to recruit, or for overflow transcription to reduce overtime and contract agency rates. To meet NHS quality standards we have introduced a multi stage checking process in which work is reviewed 3 times before being returned to the medical secretary for approval and issue. |
